Chateau La Conseillante, Pomerol, Bordeaux, 2016 Tasting notes

La Conseillante used a similar technique as Vieux Chateau Certan: selecting vines within parcels with the same level of ripeness. Normally the harvest at la Conseillante takes around 6 days. This year the harvest was spread out over a period of 26 days. All bunches were then cooled-down to 4C for a day and a night to maintain the aromatic complexity.

La Conseillante (19+ points)
[80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc]

Deep intense color. Beautiful expressive nose with a superb ripeness and complexity. On the palate there is an array of fruit with an extraordinary precision. But it is the freshness that is remarkable. More freshness and less alcohol than the 2015. An elegant and complex La Conseillante that turned out very well. Bravo!
